I am a freelance writer & editor based in Montreal.

I love to travel, and since falling for wine have visited wine country in various parts of France, Spain, Germany, Greece, the Czech Republic, Argentina, California, British Columbia, Virginia, Ontario, Nova Scotia, and Quebec.

I hold the Intermediate and Advanced Certificates in Wine & Spirits from the London-based Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and am currently enrolled in the WSET Diploma program through the International Wine Center in NYC.

You can take a girl out of the Maritimes, but you can’t take the Maritimes out of the girl…

Originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick, I’ve lived in several Canadian cities, and in Germany for six months. I return to New Brunswick regularly to eat lobster (I mean, to visit my family).

My background is in literature and so when not writing about or drinking wine, I also write poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. My first book of poetry, echoic mimic, was published by Snare Books in 2011. More about that and various bookish things at lesleytrites.com.

My sample policy…

I accept wine and wine-related products as samples for review. Though I will make every effort to taste or try the product and review it in a timely way, I cannot guarantee that all samples will be covered on the site. I will always give my honest opinion in reviews, and the review will always clearly disclose that the product was received as a complimentary sample.
